January 2017

Each year January brings us cold weather, renewed fitness and, of course, the hotly anticipated CES in Las Vegas. Never one to disappoint, the event (celebrating its 50th annual showing in 2017) once again proved that the world’s innovation starts there, regardless of the vertical category. Long gone are the days when every booth was populated by common consumer electronics, such as TVs, DVD players and stereo equipment. Over time, CES has become the place where you launch any innovation – refrigerators, cars, scooters, wheelchairs, beds or toothbrushes – as long as it is driven by cutting-edge technology. As this year’s event was bigger and better than ever, it was nice to have six Havas Formula clients there amidst such interesting technologies and making news of their own (see article below for more on that).

Havas Formula Taps Media Connections for Connected Vehicle Leader

Tapping into the agency’s fruitful relationships with transportation trade, national business and tech media, coupled with our deep expertise in the vehicle telematics space, Havas Formula is thrilled to partner with Spireon, a groundbreaking provider of connected vehicle solutions. Spireon’s connected vehicle platform supports more than 3 million active subscribers across the company’s growing suite of product offerings for new and used car dealers; lenders and financial institutions; rental car agencies; insurers; consumers; and fleet, trailer and asset management companies. From supporting new market launches for innovative connected vehicle solutions to cultivating enhanced brand awareness in the crowded commercial vehicle technology vertical and positioning the company at the vanguard of enterprise data and analytics conversations, agency of record Havas Formula will deliver effective PR strategies to advance company momentum and drive bottom line growth.

Havas Formula Clients Take CES by Storm

At this year’s CES, Havas Formula assisted no less than six clients on site – Motiv, Immotor, Sound United, Brydge, Happiest Baby, and Schlage – with teams there handling everything from launching new products, conducting media interviews and hosting press events to developing content and supporting award submissions. Some highlights from the three days in Vegas included: Motiv introduced its innovative Motiv Ring, the first highly advanced wearable device that changes the way people measure activity and sleep, with coverage in outlets including Mashable and CNN Money. Meanwhile, dozens of press took a spin on the Immotor GO, an ultra-portable, electric personal vehicle, with placements landing in USA Today and Reuters TV, among others. For Sound United brands Polk Audio, Definitive Technology and Polk BOOM, Havas Formula coordinated an intimate media dinner and supported nearly 70 press briefings, resulting in coverage in CNET and Digital Trends. Bluetooth tablet keyboard maker Brydge launched the 12.3, which was named Best Accessory of CES 2017 by Laptop Magazine and featured in Forbes. And finally, we worked closely with Schlage brand futurist Rob Martens to author a contributed article on the top trends at CES 2017. In addition to being published in TWICE and cited in a New York Times story, the team brought the trends to life by creating original video content. Exciting stuff all the way around!

Wonderful Pistachios Launches Healthy Holiday Campaign

The holidays are a time for celebrations, gatherings, and over-indulgences. To make the season guilt-free without sacrificing great taste, Havas FORMULATIN launched a holiday campaign for Wonderful Pistachios featuring brand ambassador, life coach and health aficionado Laura Posada. Program components included a #ViveWonderful Twitter chat, which allowed Posada to share the importance of staying focused on healthy choices during the holidays. More than 200 guests participated in the chat, which generated almost 6,000 tweets and 35.3 million impressions. Additionally, Havas FORMULATIN orchestrated a satellite media tour, during which Posada provided viewers with easy, healthy recipes for holiday entertaining. Combined with extensive media outreach, the team garnered 273 placements yielding 68 million impressions in outlets such as People En Español, Siempre Mujer, Hola! Magazine, Latin Times, and Mamas Latinas, to name a few.

Polk BOOM BIT Featured in 'Rolling Stone' Holiday Gift Guide

Polk Audio’s action/adventure brand, Polk BOOM, tasked Havas Formula with generating holiday gift guide coverage for its latest wearable Bluetooth speaker, the BOOM BIT. The Business & Technology team secured a range of coverage for the product in top-tier outlets, including a feature in Rolling Stone’s Holiday Gift Guide, “Gifts That Keep On Rocking.” The article placed the BOOM BIT alongside a variety of high-quality products and positioned the speaker as a perfect stocking stuffer for runners and cyclists. In addition to being featured in the magazine’s December issue, which boasts more than 1.4 million readers, the coverage appeared online, reaching an audience of close to 24 million unique viewers.

‘Marie Claire’ Features New Eufora Product

Havas Formula kicked off the new year with a Eufora International hair care feature in the January 2017 issue of Marie Claire. Eufora’s new product, Conceal, was said to be “having a moment” in a “Vanity Files” story about the recent root concealers trend. The piece claimed, “Eufora’s powder goes on dry, so there’s no risk of the color smearing on your scalp or clothes” and featured a photo, pricing and website URL for purchasing the product. Marie Claire has a monthly circulation of more than 3 million.

Electra Cruises into ‘Cosmopolitan’

Holiday gift guide coverage on Electra bicycles would not be complete without the brand’s annual feature in Cosmopolitan. This year, the Morning Star Fashion Cruiser was featured in the publication’s Ultimate Gift Guide as the perfect gift for the free spirit who wants to make every day feel like a music festival with far-out florals, earthy accents, and boho threads. Featuring a prominent image, Electra’s website and pricing information, the article reached Cosmopolitan’s monthly circulation of 9 million.
